Dr. Satish Ponnuru
Dr. Satish Ponnuru has been in practice since 2006 and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a candidate member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and a member of the Kansas City Society of Plastic Surgeons.
He did his undergraduate training at Washington University in St. Louis where he completed dual degrees in Biology and Spanish. He also spent one year abroad studying Spanish culture and literature in Salamanca, Spain. After graduating from medical school, he completed his general surgery residency and then a plastic surgery residency both at the University of Kansas.
Being a Kansas City native, he chose to remain here to build his practice. He joined the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Kansas as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in July of 2009. He runs the resident cosmetic clinic. He has a diverse practice but has a particular interest in Body Contouring after Weight Loss Surgery and laser surgery.
