Jennifer Biggs, PA-C
Jennifer received her Bachelor of Nursing degree at Millikin University in 1999. In 2004, she graduated from Rosalind Franklin University, with a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. She performed clinical rotations in all major fields of medicine, at various hospitals throughout Chicago. Jennifer has worked in Plastic Surgery for the past 5 years, initially in Chicago and for the past year in the Kansas City area for KU Plastic Surgery.
Jennifer is very involved with the pre-operative and post-operative care and education of the patients for both cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries. She has training in advanced Botox injection techniques and a variety of dermal filler products, including Restylane, Juvederm and Radiesse.
Jennifer is certified by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and a licensed provider for the state of Kansas. She is a member of the Kansas Academy of Physician Assistants (KAPA), the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) as well as an associated member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
Jennifer and her husband moved to Kansas City in 2009.
Suzanne Mitchell
Suzanne is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner for over 15 years, with a background in cardiology, emergency medicine, and internal medicine. For the past 7 years, she has worked in burn and wound with certification as Certified Wound Specialist.
She also worked in the outpatient Burn and Wound Clinic, treating both burns (usually less then 10% TBSA) and chronic non-healing wounds (diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, non-healing surgical wounds, pressure ulcers, post-radiation effects). She is also pursuing a PhD in Nursing with additional research interest in telehealth in burn care.
She enjoys a collaborative relationship with the nursing staff and supporting medical staff and looks forward to performing meaningful burn/wound research.
Matthew D. Pierce, APRN-BC
A native Iowan, Matthew Pierce attended the University of Iowa where in 2000 he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing. After graduating from the University of Iowa, Matthew worked as a traveling nurse in multiple academic medical centers throughout the midwest and the US Virgin Islands.
In 2005, Matthew graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he received a Dual Masters of Science Degree in Nursing specializing in Adult Acute Care and as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. While at the University of Nebraska, Matthew won the alumni association award for excellence in clinical research for his work with bioimpedence technology in treating heart failure.
After graduating from the University of Nebraska, Matthew joined an internal medicine group in Kansas City and later joined the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2006 specializing in burn surgery and critical care. Matthew enjoys spending time with his 2 year-old son, Parker, and his wife Amy, who is also a nurse practitioner, specializing in pediatric surgery.
